Volunteers are one of the essential building blocks of a successful nonprofit organization. Your dedication of time and talent helps improve the lives of children and adults with developmental disabilities. The Arc of the Capital Area’s volunteer opportunities are abundant, from coordinating events to working with clients at the art studio, providing office assistance, and more. We couldn’t do it without you!
Art Classes Volunteers are paired with clients and work with various media including paint, ceramics, photography, and beadwork to create unique pieces of art. Offered Monday— Friday from 9:30 a.m.—2:30 p.m.
Digital Media Classes The Arc of the Arts is dedicated to keeping artists engaged and current with various digital media platforms. Volunteers are paired with clients and work with various digital media, such as Photoshop, graphic design, and photography. Offered Mondays 9:30 a.m. —2:30 p.m.
Music Classes The Arc of the Arts wants to bring the wealth of musical knowledge in Austin to our clients. We are looking for musicians to teach clients about music, instruments and movement. All talents are welcome! Offered Tuesdays 9:30 a.m.—2:30 p.m.
Client Events Every month we host several social events to encourage our clients to be engaged members of our community. Opportunities include Bowling, Coffee Club, Movie Night, and other special events. Contact our volunteer coordinator (see below) for more details.
Special Events The Arc of the Capital Area hosts several special events that rely on volunteer support throughout the year. Events include Building Bridges Art Celebration & Auction, our annual gala; Swinging Fore The Arc with Ed Clements, our annual golf tournament; our art shows, and more.
